Our History

Children’s Community Physicians Association (CCPA) began on October 31, 1995 as an Illinois membership corporation with seven elected board members. CCPA’s initial purposes included the following:

  1. Providing to community-based pediatricians education regarding pediatric medicine and managed care.
  2. Arranging, facilitating, and implementing managed care contracts on behalf of its member.
  3. To provide forum for the discussion of issues applicable to community-based pediatricians.

For over twenty years, CCPA has grown into a seven elected board of directors with over 370 community-based pediatrician members. Our purpose has evolved over time to support our members with the ever-changing healthcare environment.
