Our History

Children’s Community Physicians Association (CCPA) began on October 31, 1995 as an Illinois membership corporation with seven elected board members. CCPA’s initial purposes included the following:

  1. Providing to community-based pediatricians education regarding pediatric medicine and managed care.
  2. Arranging, facilitating, and implementing managed care contracts on behalf of its member.
  3. To provide a forum for the discussion of issues applicable to community-based pediatricians.

For over twenty years, CCPA has grown into a nine elected board of directors with over 370 community-based pediatrician members. Our purpose has evolved over time to support our members with the ever-changing healthcare environment.
